First Weekend of 2015

Dallas General Liability: Contractors Insurance- Well here we are the first weekend of the New Year and all of us here at labor force insurance look forward to the New Year and we remind ourselves probably every other hour that life is somewhat like snow skiing. If you are not falling you are not learning and sometimes it hurts to have knowledge. Just an old saying, did not say it was an old “great” saying. I get asked the following question much more than you would ever think. The question: why do I need general liability when no one ever asked me for a certificate of insurance and there is no law that demands I have such coverage? Well not the worst question in the world so let’s talk a little bit about your Dallas general liability.

The independent small contractor

There are many people who work without general liability “and yes they are legitimate contractors” that does not make it the most prudent thing to do and does not make it the right thing to do. Most everything has a middle so this is what I would do. A small contractor that works primarily alone probably will never have a general liability claim. The operative word here is probably – and if you can afford to pay for all probable and not so probable losses created by what is commonly referred to as an accident, then you should feel safe and sleep well. For the rest of us who do not want to pay the $25,000 for the accident you might consider this. Mr. contractor you might get a very small policy would load limits i.e. such as $100,000. No one is asking you for a certificate insurance therefore you will probably be in a decent position – that is a maybe I didn’t say for sure but it sure beats nothing.

The obvious

No one wants to pay a claim out-of-pocket when it gets into the tens of thousands of dollars – I can see you rolling your eyes from here in saying “Gee – why don’t you tell me something I don’t know.” Admittedly this seems a little bit convenient because this is how I make my living – working with people who need Dallas general liability. So if there seems to be a conflict of interest here so-be-it. Because I am of the opinion that no one is going to be angry with me over there policy paying a $25,000 claim. I just want to venture a small gas that this is where someone is rather happy they took out a policy.
Because:

  • Well…. Accidents happen
  • Let’s talk because you are liable
  • Can you afford not to be protected?
  • Payment plans takes the sting and makes things much more comfortable
  • Don’t get mad: It’s the cost of doing business
